CeraVe Reparative Hand Cream – Review

Summer is over. Finally! I am not a big fan of hot weather, but as the temperatures drop, it means that it’s the time to take out sweaters, a humidifier, and stock up on hand creams. As my face is mainly oily, with some dry patches in the U zone, my skin below the neck is dry almost all year around. Especially my hands, which suffer from constant washing and temperature changes. After face products, hand creams and similar treatments are the second largest group of products that I constantly try out, because my dry hands are always a problem. I have found another great hand cream, CeraVe Reparative Hand Cream.

This product is quite similar to other CeraVe products. Like all CeraVe creams this one also includes the MVE technology, it’s fragrance-free and helps to restore skin’s moisture barrier. There’s a bunch of nourishing ingredients such as glycerine, petrolatum, ceramides, cholesterol, hyaluronic acid, and vitamin E.
The Reparative Hand Cream has a lighter texture than the Moisturising Cream (which is great for the body, but it contains too much mineral oil for me) and denser than the Moisturising Facial Lotion (also known as CeraVe PM Lotion). I am usually not a fan of products with mineral oil, like the CeraVe Moisturising Cream, but this hand cream is superb. Until I started writing this review, I’d had no idea it included petrolatum, because it is very light-weight, for a hand cream, and leaves no residue behind.

My hands are dry all year around. I get eczema flares up and visible cracks quite often; and do not approach them with perfumed hand creams, it’s just a no. When I bought this hand cream, I had pretty dry hands, and for some reason I’d run out of all my good hand creams, meaning LRP and SVR. After just one day of using this cream, my hands revitalised. They felt soft, even after washing, and few cracks that had developed were less apparent. In short, life was restored to my hands.

I highly recommend this product to everyone, especially to those who struggle with dry hands. Trust me; your hands will like this product. Like all CeraVe creams, the Reparative Hand Cream includes fantastic, skin-nourishing ingredients. You can also use the Moisturising Cream, which has similar ingredients, but for me, it would be more of a nighttime treatment with a pair of cotton gloves, whereas this one I use throughout the day without having oily hands.
