The True Cream Moisturising Bomb is another product that has gained ground among skincare users in recent years. I assume it can be partially attributed to the availability of Belif products in Sephoras across the globe, though it doesn’t mean they are just over-hyped nothings.  

Belif promise that this product will hydrate the skin for 26 hours. I doubt that anyone who has bought the cream actually checked how long the hydration lasts. Just like with Clinique’s moisture surge they put a high number of hours, and we take it for granted. In any case, I can attest that this product boosts the moisture levels with noticeable results. It’s enough to apply it overnight to see a difference. Perfect all over the face and even around the eyes. I have bought the heavier, alcohol-free version (cream not gel), which honestly wasn’t the best choice for the summer. However, it served me as a wonderful night cream even during the hottest nights — this on top of Serozinc is all my skin needed during the last heatwave. 

The True Cream Moisturising Bomb is loaded with plant extracts, but both on Sephora and Belif’s websites comfrey leaf is singled out as the backbone of this cream. The plant supposedly has highly moisturising properties, and I’ve heard that it’s used in folklore medicine to heal various ailments. Though the comfrey leaf extract comes in the second half of the ingredients list (in bold). The cream also contains two of Napier’s formulas, for which Belif’s products are known, the original and moisture one. (Napier’s formula is a unique blend of herbs, named after the founder, that is supposed to nourish and calm the skin.) These two special formulas work together to hydrate the skin, prevent blemishes and fight against signs of ageing; they basically try to say that this product is full of anti-inflammatory ingredients. This cream contains various ferments like mistletoe and soybean ferments — we all know very well that ferments do magic. Also, it is packed with many plant extracts, not the irritating ones, for example, oat and lady’s mantle extracts which are very soothing and are used in eczema products; calendula extract is another great anti-inflammatory. The list goes on as there are many good ones. The plant extracts in this cream are superb it seems to me like they were all selected with one idea in mind – calming and nourishing the skin. (Well, the use of Napier’s formula forced them to use many of these) The only concern, for some of you, might be the mix of fragrance used in this product. However, it vanishes quickly, and I didn’t find it disturbing. 

I have really enjoyed this cream, and I must admit that it was very moisturising. My skin felt and looked different the next morning after applying the cream. The combo of ingredients really reflects in the results. After using the cream, my skin was looking fresh and plump. The moisturising effect definitely lasted for a long time on my skin. Though its aimed at dry skin types, my oily skin was fine with this one. I didn’t notice any breakouts from using this cream. I recommend this Belif cream to anyone from oily to dry and very dry skin types (people with oily skin should try it out first in a shop and see if you like the texture). 

Overall, it’s a good hydrating cream that leaves the skin supple and soft for a long time. It contains many moisturising and soothing ingredients, that make the formula unique. It didn’t break me out, and I really enjoyed it.
