This is my favourite face cleanser from Clinique, gentle and filled with skin-benefiting ingredients.

This cleanser includes many moisturising ingredients such as squalane, which is second in the list, glycerine, cholesterol, cucumber extract, and several skin-soothing plant extracts. Clinique bring our attention to their ‘patented, skin-soothing lactobacillus extract’, which is listed as lactobacillus ferment (clinique.co.uk). The patented lactobacillus extract is supposed to help with red-looking skin instantly. Though it is not the only ingredient that has calming properties, the entire formula is full of components that can alleviate skin irritation. Like all Clinique’s products, this one also is fragrance-free. It’s intended for all skin types with tendencies to redness. 

The cleanser has a consistency of a fluffy gel. It is very gentle on the skin, doesn’t lather but slips on the surface. Clinique suggest it for removing ‘makeup and impurities’ though I am not sure how it would handle it. I have been using this one off and on for a few years now, and I have never used it for anything else than cleansing my face (a.m. or 2nd p.m. cleanse). I don’t see the cleanser removing the ultra-resistant sunscreens or long-wear foundations; it contains rather soft surfactants if you know what I mean. It’s meant for irritated skin after all. After cleansing, the skin feels soft and hydrated without any oily residue.

It’s a great cleanser suitable for all skin types. It cleanses the skin without causing irritation. It’s a mild face wash that doesn’t cause troubles and includes a variety of skin-benefiting ingredients.
