This cleanser is one of the products that Pixi have created in collaboration with beauty gurus, in this case with Caroline Hirons. Pixi make a lot of great products, but this cleanser is just superb. First of all, the packaging is very practical – ideal for daily use and travelling; but also the formulas of the cleansers are amazing.

Solid Cleansing Oil:

• Vitamin E protects & conditions.
• Omega-rich Camellia Oil nourishes & softens.
• Evening Primrose Oil heals & moisturizes.

Cleansing Cream:

• Vitamin C promotes collagen & protects.

• Arginine improves cell renewal & elasticity.

Also, both are fragrance-& paraben-free

In short, these cleansers are not only about cleansing your skin. They contain a mix of nourishing and skin-boosting ingredients. In addition to the oils mentioned above, which are full of omegas beneficial for the skin, the solid cleanser is filled with nourishing oils that moisturise and gently cleanse the skin like avocado and macadamia oils. The cream cleanser is equally hydrating, but it is not based on oils. Instead, it contains a lot of moisturising alcohols such as glycerine (yes, glycerine is a type of alcohol); we can also find water-full aloe vera here. The Cream contains even more beneficial ingredients, besides those written above. There are vitamin E, irritation-calming allantoin, and hyaluronic acid. Though, I am not convinced that peptides and arginine would make any difference if you wash them off shortly after applying. But it doesn’t hurt to use a cleanser packed it with a lot of antioxidants, does it? Whether they work or not, the Cream Cleanser is nourishing and hydrating to the skin.

When it comes to the cleansing experience, both products deliver satisfying results. The Solid Cleansing Oil resembles coconut oil, in my opinion; it melts once heated up. Though in this case, the warmth of our hands is enough to change it from a solid form into oil. The Solid Oil removes anything; it just cuts through products and dirt that are on your face. It’s enough to massage the cleanser on your face for a couple of minutes and wash it off. I would recommend using a flannel to remove the product, as it doesn’t emulsify. The Cleansing Cream is very lovely; it’s my favourite amongst the two in the jar. It’s so cocooning and hydrating, it feels like a hydrating face cream rather than a cleanser. I wish that there was more than 50ml of the Cream (the other 50 ml is the Solid Oil) because it runs out much faster than the Oil. I usually use the Cleansing Cream twice a day, as the Double Cleanse is the only face washing product with me while travelling. Also, the Cream can serve as a shaving cream when in need. Probably not the best option, but does the job. In my experience, both of the products did not cause any breakouts or irritation. Even though both cleansers are full of various ingredients, I would say that all skin types can use them, given that you are not allergic to any of the components.

Overall, both of the cleansers are excellent. The Oil removes everything that sits on your face, and the Cream gently cleanses it. Both of the cleansers are mild to the skin and are packed with wonderful ingredients, such as oils and antioxidants. I highly recommend this product to everyone, especially if you travel a lot as you just take one product instead of two or more.
