Hada Labo Tokyo No. 1 Super Hydrator – Review

Here’s another product from the Hada Labo Tokyo line. This lotion is quite similar to the original lotion sold in Japan; however, the ingredients are slightly different just like in other products from the same line.

I picked up a couple of bottles of this lotion last autumn in Poland, and I’ve been using it since then. It is very lovely, quite similar to the light version of the Hada Labo lotion, but a bit denser in texture (if that makes sense). It resembles a very runny gel, which absorbs pretty fast. I like to use this product, top to bottom, all over my face and body. This lotion, layered with a good moisturiser, is like a dream for your skin. If you suffer from dry skin on your body, you may want to consider adding this Hydrator to your routine. The product is light-weight, and it may seem like it wouldn’t be enough on its own, but honestly, sometimes it’s the only product that I use before my SPF in the morning. You know those busy mornings when you literally have 15 minutes to get ready – this will get you through one of those. Though, it works even better when layered with a serum and a moisturiser on top of it, giving a burst of hydration to your skin.

As all HL Tokyo products, this lotion also contains the super hyaluronic acid developed by Rohto (the parent company). It is technically three types of hyaluronic acid varying in sizes. Another great ingredient in this formula is glycerine, which, together with hyaluronic acid, make an excellent duo to deliver moisture to the skin. The Hydrator is fragrance-free, and it doesn’t cause breakouts. The ingredients are pretty plain, so I am sure the lotion will suit all skin types, even very sensitive ones.  It can be used as a toner, a serum, or as an all-in-one product. It’s really multipurpose. I like to apply the lotion immediately after showering to keep the water inside my skin and prep it for the next steps of my routine.

Overall, it’s a lovely product. It can be used on its own or as a part of any routine. I like to use the lotion all over my body; it’s really hydrating and helps a lot with dry skin. I recommend it to everyone, regardless of skin type and age.
