CosRX Acne Pimple Master Patch – Review

This product may seem simple and unnecessary, that’s what I had been thinking about it before I bought it. I thought it was a gimmicky product, like many Asian products, or CosRx’s silk cocoons for exfoliating face – they do nothing by the way. But oh boy, I was wrong. These patches are a game changer when it comes to spots. Acne Pimple Master Patch is a hydrocolloid patch which is supposed to ‘suck out’ the spot, more specifically the components that create it.

CosRx recommend putting one of these patches on a blemish that is forming or right after squeezing a spot. I have tried both methods, and if you don’t squeeze the spot, it doesn’t do much in my opinion. However, if you decide to squeeze, it helps a lot with the process. You can use fingers or a tool to do it (I prefer a tool). After popping a spot, disinfect the treatment area and stick one of these on top for a couple of hours or overnight. It will stop the oozing, and it will make sure that nothing new reappears in the same place. I have also noticed that it speeds up the healing process, the skin heals within a day or two and the marks after spots disappear much quicker in places where I used a patch. Lastly, it can serve as a patch to stop shaving nicks from bleeding. You know when you rush, and you want to speed things up, a slight move in the wrong direction, then you bleed for the rest of your morning. Just put one of these patches on the disinfected area, and it will stop within minutes.

A small warning on squeezing spots, if you attempt to do it, try to remove only those that came to a head (it will have a little, black dot in the middle). DO NOT squeeze anything that is under your skin! A spot that is suitable for popping is a spot that looks like it’s about to burst. Anything that stays firm and hard and/or is in the forming process should not be touched. As I said, I prefer using a comedone extractor tool over my fingers. Such a tool can help you to make sure you squeeze out everything, but be gentle with it. Skin is a very sensitive organ. You can get one from a chemist’s shop, Sephora or a shop for beauty professionals. However, make sure you disinfect them, with alcohol or any special liquid from a pharmacy, before and after. Sanitation is important! If you use fingers to squeeze, wrap your fingers in tissues or thin cotton pads; don’t attempt it with bare hands. You can also use gloves, but it’s your face so you if you wash your hands thoroughly, I would say that’s enough.

I highly recommend these patches, they are simple, but they really take away a lot of burden with spots. Before trying, I was contemplating almost a year whether or not I should get these. Now I buy them in bundles, as they are so great! They are suitable for everyone. If you get loads of spots or an occasional blemish, you will appreciate this product. Just a reminder, if you squeeze be gentle with your skin.
