As some of you may know, I was using a treatment combining tretinoin with hydroquinone over the summer, which my skin tolerated quite well; I was surprised by how little dryness and irritation I experienced. However, it doesn’t mean that my skin wasn’t dry or aggravated at all. So, I’ve decided to find a product that would help me with the side effects, and the Dermalogy Cica Repair Snail Essence caught my attention during my online pursuits.
The efficacy of snail mucin has been demonstrated in several studies. It increases moisture levels, decreases irritation, and fights against signs of ageing such as sagging skin and discolouration. It also works wonders on sun-damaged skin! In this formula, it is the main ingredient constituting 96% of the preparation. We can also find here a host of plant extracts such as the popular Centella Asiatica, the plant extract and its active components, which is known to be anti-inflammatory, soothing, and hydrating. The product also includes arginine, an amino acid known to aid skin-repairing processes. Moreover, there is an interesting, patented component called Alp-Sebum CB, which supposedly regulates sebum production. It’s hard for me to say whether it works or not, there is not much information about it, but I will take the producer’s word for it – you can read about the ingredient here. The essence is fragrance-free and suitable for all skin types.
This product is simply amazing. I believe everyone should have it in their stash. You may not need it every day, but when you do, you will be glad that you have it. This essence is very versatile, you can use it all over your body, on its own or as part of a complex skincare regimen. It soaks into the skin within seconds, and it doesn’t leave any sticky or oily layer. Instead, it makes your skin soft, nourished, and radiant. This essence gives me such an incredible glow that I don’t get from many products. Since I’ve started using it, my skin has begun to look overall better and beam with youthfulness. It doesn’t help much with redness, but it makes my skin look well-rested and plump. Also, I am not sure if it is this product or something else, though I haven’t introduced anything new recently, but it seems like the essence shrinks my pores. Even while I was using tretinoin, my T-zone did not look this good – that’s why I am inclined to believe the essence has something to do with it. Overall, it has exceeded my expectations.
Without a shadow of a doubt, this is my favourite snail secretion product. It delivers the full benefits of snail mucin, and it doesn’t break the bank. I highly recommend it to everyone because I believe that everyone can benefit from it, even if your skin doesn’t seem to have any special needs – prevention is key. This essence is loaded with plants, which are full of antioxidants, and at the same time, you get plenty of snail mucin in this product.
