These are my favourite everyday masks. I mean I use the Sensitive Skin Sheet Masks the most, I always have them around, and they never fail me.
The formula of the essence is relatively simple; it is focused around moisturising ingredients such as glycerine. But it is not the only ingredient worth mentioning; we can also find soothing allantoin, arginine with antioxidant properties, hydrating hyaluronic acid, polyquaternium-51, which helps to calm the skin and is ‘highly’ moisturising. There’s also purslane extract – the plant is rich in antioxidants like vitamins A, C, and E. The formula is free of alcohol and fragrance. There’s grapefruit seed extract in the essence, which acts as a preservative and not fragrance. Muji make claims that this extract protects the skin, I guess based on the ingredient’s antimicrobial and antifungal properties, but I am not sure if it’s what they meant. The sheet masks are safe to use by all skin types.
I like these masks a lot, I go through a few packs of these a year. They hydrate the skin, soothe it and help to reduce redness. After applying these masks, my skin always feels soft and hydrated. I never have issues using them even when my skin is compromised. I used these masks while on tretinoin, and I don’t recall any burning or stinging sensation, which happens with a lot of products while on tretinoin. I have tried many products from the Sensitive Skin line, but I keep coming back to these sheet masks, my second favourite product is the Sensitive Skin Oil Cleansing.
I don’t have much to say about these masks; they are simple yet effective. Don’t expect miracles; their purpose is to hydrate and calm the skin. You can use them daily, or when you need extra care after things like acid treatments, tretinoin, you can use them on sunburnt skin (though try to avoid getting sunburnt), dry skin due to weather conditions. They are very gentle so they shouldn’t aggravate the situation, but can help in the healing process.
I highly recommend these sheet masks to everyone. The formula is suitable for all skin types; it includes many skin-benefiting ingredients. I’ve never experienced breakouts after using these masks, or any other adverse effects.
