This is another forgotten review — the super popular CosRX’s honey mask. 

It’s a hydrating mask that is also supposed to brighten and soothe the skin. It’s not overloaded with ingredients; the two main elements are propolis extract and natural beeswax, there’s no actual honey in the product. It contains glycerine, dimethicone, and hyaluronic acid. Also, we can find calming allantoin and panthenol, which are lovely ingredients for irritated skin. Half-way through the list, there’s arginine, which is an amino-acid, similarly to other components in this mask, helps to calm and moisturise the skin, but it can also act as an antioxidant. At the very end, there’s an ingredient called adenosine (derived from yeast) proven to have soothing and have anti-wrinkle properties. 

The mask itself is quite hydrating and pleasant to use. It is a bit tacky at first, but the gluiness goes away after some time (the product is less sticky if you apply it on damp skin). I have enjoyed using the mask, and I used it up quite quickly. I especially liked using it before applying my nighttime routine or on days when I was staying home. I didn’t necessarily leave it overnight. The mask has a light, gel texture and doesn’t cause breakouts. It is suitable for all skin types unless you’re allergic to any of the ingredients. There are no potential irritants, and it’s fragrance-free.

I found it quite hydrating, something in-between a cream and a mask. It was lovely to use during the summer, but I don’t think it wouldn’t be enough for cold winter months. Also, I think it’s quite soothing, perhaps it isn’t suitable for something intense, like a severe reaction to retinoids. It’s okay to use the mask, though don’t hope it will take away the redness. It will work fine on some mild irritation; it can be quite helpful. There are a lot of moisturising and soothing ingredients, which are beneficial for the skin. 

Overall, it’s a lovely, hydrating, and soothing mask. It’s suitable for all skin types. I understand why many people are in love with this mask. It isn’t a proper mask, but it works better than a moisturiser (if that makes sense). I will repurchase this mask for the summer, for sure as it was a joy to use it.
