When I think of DHC, this is the product that comes to my mind, the Deep Cleansing Oil. I think it’s one of their most popular products. Well, at least, that’s what I associate the brand with, but I am not the only who enjoys this product.
I like a good cleansing oil. Using an oil-based cleanser is the best way for a facial massage it allows for the hands to glide on the skin rather than drag it. Also, oil-based cleansers dissolve everything. No need to rub your skin, just a gentle massage and everything will come off – sunscreen, makeup you name it. There’s nothing that this cleanser leaves behind. Your skin will not only be clean, but also well moisturised and nourished.
When it comes to this cleanser, I also enjoy the smell. The scent of olive oil mixed with a subtle hint of rosemary helps me to relax as it brings back memories of summer holidays. It goes without saying that olive oil is a fabulous emollient full of skin benefiting elements. Plus this cleanser was enhanced with vitamin E for the extra antioxidant action (and as a preservative of course). Not too many ingredients, there’s nothing that could potentially be irritating and no fragrance in sight. It’s suitable for all skin types, and I don’t think it would cause any aggravate anyone as it’s very gentle.
One more thing that I like about this cleanser is its packaging. There are three options to pick from, and two of them are below 100 ml, which makes this product a perfect travel companion.
You may ask if this cleanser is olive oil based, why don’t I just use pure olive oil? Well, there is a huge difference. This product is processed oil that was blended with other ingredients to make it an actual cleanser that emulsifies and removes dirt, olive oil on its own doesn’t do that. Of course, you can opt for regular olive oil that you use for cooking. It’s a much better option than using coconut oil which is just vile. I mean I don’t how it became so popular in skincare, anyway… But you may have problems removing olive oil off your face. You would need something rough to remove the residue left behind, and it would just dry out your skin. You would be better off just using a regular cleanser. Of course, you could leave the residue on your face, but pure olive oil isn’t the best moisturiser on its own, and the oily residue on your face may cause breakouts. I know some people use olive oil to wash their faces, I have tried it myself before, but pure olive oil does not work for me. I also wouldn’t advise anyone with acne not to try to cleanse with pure oils – it’s just not a good idea.
Overall, this is a great product and does the job. It’s not irritating and removes the dirt effectively. It’s great for all skin types even for sensitive ones. I highly encourage you to try this cleanser if you want something simple and nourishing.
