Decorté Sun Shelter Multi Protection Very Water Resistant SPF 50+ – Review

It’s been a while, but I’ve been moving around Europe and haven’t got the time and energy to blog. I hope you all understand. I ordered this product before my voyages last August. However, I hadn’t planned on getting the Very Water Resistant version, the shop must have mixed it up with my favourite Decorté Sun Shelter Water Resistant sunscreen. On the positive side, I could test this sunscreen, which I wouldn’t have done otherwise. And as I don’t plan on getting any of the new releases this year, I think it will be my only suncare-related review in 2025. I might find something yet, but I haven’t seen anything exciting so far.

This formula, while similar to the Water Resistant version, has its own unique features. It blends zinc oxide with chemical filters, but the zinc particles are noticeably larger. The vehicle has more moisturising components, such as moringa seed oil. The active components are dispersed through the brand’s liposome technology called ‘Watery Plush Capsules’; they combine with the film-forming ‘Even Water Veil Technology’, providing a hydrating layer that evenly distributes the liposomal bubbles with UV-cut elements. The product is perfumed, but the scent isn’t overwhelming.

As much as I like the Sun Shelter Water Resistant, I couldn’t push myself to use this sunscreen on my face for more than two days. Even though it has a gel-cream consistency, it feels heavy on the skin and leaves a shiny, whitish overlay – like it can never fully dry down. Depending on how much you apply, it may not be an issue, but as you reapply, eventually, you will see the white layer. If you’re prone to perspiring in warm weather, then forget about this product because the gel mixes with sweat and looks like dairy cream in the sweaty zones. The size of zinc particles makes a huge difference compared to the other formula, and I believe moringa seed oil doesn’t agree with my skin. Testing it out has been fun, but I will stick to the Sun Shelter Water Resistant, which I personally prefer.

    • I know it’s funny, but I honestly didn’t know what else to compare it to. When it gathered above my lip, it looked like I’d dipped my mouth in a tub of cream.😂
