Last year, I said I would write more regularly, but it didn’t happen; let’s hope I will be more productive this year.

UNO is Shiseido’s high-street skincare brand for men. A few years ago, I reviewed their sunscreen.

The active component of the formula is tranexamic acid, which soothes the skin and reduces skin discolouration; it is enveloped in a rich base consisting of emollient ingredients such as dimethicone, glycerine, and mineral oil. There’s also collagen to aid the moisturising action and a few antioxidants like a vitamin C derivative and arginine to reduce the oxidative stress on the skin. The product contains fragrance as well as essential oils, though it’s not irritating in my experience.

This serum-cream is terrific, it can be used on its own or in conjunction with other products in your skincare routine. I was using it throughout the entire last winter. The small tube lasts relatively long, as you don’t need much of the cream. It has a bit of a balmy feel, so don’t apply large amounts, as it will weigh on your skin – the less is more. This product fares well in cold winter weather and provides much-needed hydration.
For this reason, I wouldn’t use it in summer, as it feels occlusive on the skin. After a fortnight of use, my complexion appeared clearer, brighter, and more even. It also soothes irritated skin after shaving.

I think anyone can benefit from this product, regardless of one’s gender. This serum reminds me a bit of Shiseido’s Aqua Label Serum, but this one has a thicker texture. If you’re in the market for a moisturising and brightening product, then this is a great option to consider.
